The Final Countdown

20 days. My countdown, that started with approximately 170 days until our end of season/championship meet, is coming down to the end. Taper is approaching, sooner for some then for others, (as a distance swimmer I have a little longer to wait than some of my luckier, sprint-gifted teammates.) Is it possible the nerves are already kicking in?

We are being pressured to eat better,

sleep more,

fix our strokes, and focus on the little components of our race that has been holding us back.

Practices have remained challenging but there is this feeling that the end is near, that everything counts, that this is your final chance to give it your all. There is no more blowing off steam on the weekends, we are in the dorms resting. Its time to actually take the vitamins that our moms asks us if we’ve been taking every time we call her. We have to be feeling some stress with all our hard work coming to an end.

So to try to take some of that stress away I’ve been watching some pretty funny videos of people being idiots! There is something about people hurting themselves that is so awful, its funny. Attached is a pool related version of people doing dumb things. I hope you enjoy it!
